8 countries where people celebrate the 8th of March in their own way

Vietnam

The people of Vietnam are very attracted to the 8^th of March, therefore they arrange for themselves an official day off and magnificent celebrations. This country has its own history for this special date. Previously, it was a national day for the memory of the Ching sisters, who bravely fought against China's invasion of Vietnam, and bravely perished in battle. Now this holiday symbolizes the struggle of women for their rights.

Italy

Life-loving Italians beat "women's independence" in their own way: every year women of different ages arrange parties. Men are not allowed to enter such parties. Celebrations begin in bars with light cocktails, after which women's companies move to various clubs, many of which this evening are opened for girls for free.

Cuba

On the 8^th of March in Cuba you can feel the atmosphere of revolution and freedom. Eyewitnesses say that the modern Cuban celebration is very much like the 8^th of March that was celebrated at the time of the USSR. Among other things, Cuban women gather at congresses, discuss important political and social issues, receive awards for success in labor and revolutionary activity.

China

In China the 8^th of March is a day off only partially. Partly, because only women have a rest on this day. For many ladies this is a good occasion to meet with friends, arrange a get-together, go shopping and just relax from a daily routine work. Husbands traditionally meet their wives with a ready dinner, the so-called "pumpkin of fidelity" - in this dish you can find many different ingredients that are cooked inside of a large pumpkin.

Greece

International Women's Day in Greece is celebrated quietly and calmly, in the family ambiance or congratulating women at work. For many couples it is also a good opportunity to have a romantic dinner.

France

In France it is not usually common to celebrate the 8^th of March loudly, except perhaps among certain political trends. However, on this day throughout the country special trade events are organized, the purpose of which is to raise funds for charity. All that can be collected is transferred to the fund of mothers-heroines, so that they could afford to go on vacation.

Poland

In Poland on the 8^th of March women are not treated with the official day off, but men do not forget to congratulate and give gifts to their women. In the flower markets, which are also opened for the holiday, there are many spring flowers, and they are quickly sold out.

Nepal

In Nepal the 8^th of March is an official day off, but only for women. However, here this holiday is not as romantic and peaceful as we know it. On this day women organize various movements, protest actions and strikes, thus trying to draw attention to the major problems concerning women in the country.
