Ice helps to soothe burnt skin and remove redness. However, ice cubes should not be placed on the sunburn for more than 10 seconds – do it with intervals. Otherwise, you can provoke additional skin damage.

To pop blisters

Do not pop the blisters and be sure that they will not be damaged because of the clothes or movements. Bursting burn blisters on your own can cause an infection.

To do deep skin cleansing

Scrubs and peelings are enemies of sun-damaged skin. You can use these products only after the burns are completely healed. For the growth of new, healthy cells, fruit peeling is the best choice. Do peeling several times a week during a month.

To neglect using sun protection creams

At the first exposure to the sun after burning, remember that the injured skin should be protected from the sun with even greater efficiency than the healthy one - otherwise the burn on the already burnt area may appear again. If the previous cream didn’t make the right effect, try to use another one with higher SPF.

To apply products that contain alcohol or fat

Thick and dense products, which include fat, do not allow the skin to breathe and heal. In addition, the shiny surface of such components is even more attracted by the sun's rays. With regard to products that contain alcohol, they very much dehydrate the already dried skin.

To do a makeup

If you have a sunburn on your face, it is better not to use decorative cosmetics at all. If there is an urgent need, at least replace the liquid foundation with mineral powder. However, remember that the powder will provoke skin flaking.

To sunbathe

After a burn, it is better not to stay in the open sun at all. Wait till the evening or find a cool shady place. Choose loose and comfortable clothes made from natural fabrics.

To drink alcohol and coffee

Alcohol, as well as strong tea or coffee, increase dehydration. It is better to give preference to cool water, fresh juices, herbal tea or natural lemonades.

To ignore a general discomfort

If after sunbathing you suddenly start to feel a general weakness, nausea, severe headache or chills, immediately contact the medical center on the beach or call an ambulance. These signs speak of both a severe burn and thermal shock.
