Deodorants
Regardless the release form (cream, spray, gel, etc.), deodorants perform one main function - eliminate the unpleasant odor. An irreplaceable ingredient is an aromatic perfume agent, and very often some components are added to deodorants for antibacterial effect. Exactly these ingredients eliminate the multiplication of bacteria that are "responsible" for the formation of a characteristic odor during sweating.
Simply put, deodorants do not protect against the formation of sweat, but at the same time eliminate the smell itself. As a rule, for everyday use they are chosen by people who do not sweat much. Deodorants can also be used when going for a run, to a gym or a beach - they do not interfere natural sweating, which is especially important when the weather is hot or you do physical exercises.
A large selection of fragrances is another advantage of deodorants. In addition, spray or ball deodorants are also present in the lines of many luxury brands that produce perfumes.
Minuses:
- deodorants are not suitable for people who sweat a lot. They will not protect from damp spots on clothes.
- for antibacterial effect often some components are added to deodorants. These components suppress the growth of not only unwanted bacteria, but in principle kill all the microflora necessary for the skin. One of the most harmless antibacterial components is farnesol. It destroys mostly "bad" bacteria, but does not touch "good" bacteria.
- not everyone manages to find an effective deodorant from the first time. Sometimes, it is necessary to try at least several manufacturers to find the right one.
Antiperspirants
Unlike deodorants, antiperspirant’s function is to reduce perspiration. Their components penetrate the skin and clog the outlet ducts of sweat glands, thus inhibiting sweat secretion.
Antiperspirants also smell pleasantly, besides, you can often hear the name "deodorant antiperspirant." That is, this product not only prevents sweating, but also fights with an unpleasant smell, if a person still sweats.
Minuses:
- together with sweat, the body sweats out metabolic products. Misusing antiperspirants, it is possible to provoke a delay of harmful substances in the body.
- the antiperspirants include salts of aluminum and zinc. Despite the manufacturers' assurances, these components can harm the organism, accumulating in it. This does not mean that antiperspirants should be used, but it is necessary to stop using them for some time.
- antiperspirants can not be used in conditions when the body should sweat naturally - during sports, in a sauna or on the beach, etc.
- and antiperspirants, and even some deodorants make clothes dirty and are badly washed. Less often, such problems occur with gel-like, transparent products, more often - with hard white sticks.
