As you know, global sales in the world usually occur in summer and winter. However, if you want to combine an autumn vacation with shopping, you can easily find good discounts in dozens of popular travel spots.

Promotional weeks

At the height of the season you can often see signs signalling 20-30% discounts, inviting on a shopping spree. Thus, stores "push" the sale of new collections at a time when buyers are careful not to spend a lot of money and are waiting for the start of sales. Promotions can last only a few days, often taking up the weekend, or be announced for a short period of time – for example, for a week. As a rule, promotion does not apply to the entire collection, although some stores make exceptions. In the fall at promo-discounts you can find warm clothes: sweaters, jeans, jackets and accessories.

«Black Friday»

The most anticipated "sales" day of autumn is "Black Friday". This year, "Black Friday" falls on November 24, and will most likely go on for the whole weekend, as it often does due to great excitement. In Europe and America, stores announce great discounts – some brands give, on average, 30% for all goods, while others expand the range from 15 to 70% and even more. Apart from that, "Black Friday" is when other special offers are to be found, like "buy two, get a third for free". As you can see, it makes sense to plan your autumn shopping for a weekend trip on November 24-26.

Happy leftovers

Grand sales of summer collections have, of course, long been over, but many stores keep stands with clearance prices till this time. For example, in Germany, Italy and Spain there is still an opportunity to choose something for the next year, and if you are lucky, you can find some fitting clothes for the season – long-sleeved T-shirts, trousers and dresses. The only downside is that most of the "on-sale" units remain in the most unpopular sizes – very large or, conversely, too small.

Major outlets

If during the autumn holiday you do not feel like looking for special offers and waiting for "Black Friday", you can always go to outlet stores to find discounts. Here you can find clothes and shoes from both the mass market and the premium segment. Outlets offer last season items that remained in stock after the sales. If you are not a trend hunter, you can find a lot of good things in outlet alleys at relatively low prices – there are discounts from 30% to 70% all year round. In Europe, there are many out-of-town outlets, where regular buses go. And here are the biggest and most popular of them:

  • Outlet City Metzingen, Germany (the nearest major city is Stuttgart)
  • Designer Outlet Parndorf, Austria (nearest big city is Bratislava)
  • Cheshire Oaks, United Kingdom (the nearest major city is Liverpool)
  • Fashion District Valmontone, Italy (the nearest major city is Rome)
  • Freeport Designer Outlet, Portugal (the nearest major city is Lisbon)
